THE FEEL

A post World War II suburb, Crestwood is primarily made up of single-family homes built in the 60s. Crestwood’s municipal government prides itself on low taxes, good city services, and a great school system. The fact that it is a stable, safe neighborhood is also a big draw for families.

HISTORY

Crestwood is the final resting place of Sgt. John Sappington, a Revolutionary War soldier who served as George Washington’s personal bodyguard at the battle of Valley Forge. Sappington eventually settled in what is now Crestwood, fathering 18 children and establishing the family in the area. Today, the Sappington House stands as a museum of Americana open to the public.

ACCESSIBILITY

The neighborhood is located near major interstates 270 and 44 for easy access into the city, and only a 30-minute drive from Lambert International Airport.

Crestwood is always evolving and is a place for residents to grow together. The neighborhood has attracted a new crowd with its ArtSpace program, which offers collaborative spaces for artists.
